Urdu assembly: celebration of Yom-e-Urdu and the birth anniversary of Allama Dr. Muhammad Iqbal.

Urdu Assembly, held on 12 November 2025, was a heartfelt celebration of Yom-e-Urdu and the birth anniversary of Allama Dr. Muhammad Iqbal, the poet-philosopher whose words continue to inspire generations.

Hosted beautifully by Dua and Hurain, the program paid tribute to the Urdu language – its grace, depth, and cultural charm – while reminding everyone that Urdu is more than just a means of communication; it is our identity and pride.

The assembly featured a creative skit showing how students often find Urdu difficult or outdated, but through humor and reflection, they discover its real beauty. The turning point came when a student dreams of meeting Allama Iqbal, who teaches him that Urdu is the language of emotion, knowledge, and self-respect. This moment conveyed a strong message that Urdu connects us to our history, our parents, and our values – and forgetting it means losing a part of ourselves.

The performance blended laughter, learning, and inspiration. It reminded everyone that while learning other languages is important, one must never forget their own zubaan.

The program also included a soulful recitation of Iqbal’s nazm “Lab Pe Aati Hai Dua Ban Ke Tamanna Meri,” followed by an engaging poetry activity that celebrated the richness of Urdu shaairi.

In the end, Dua and Hurain summed up the message beautifully:
“Seekho sab, par bhulo mat apni pehchaan – Urdu sirf zubaan nahi, ek ehsaas hai.”

In essence, the Urdu Assembly was a journey from laughter to realization – reviving the love for Urdu, honoring Allama Iqbal, and celebrating our cultural and linguistic identity: Apni Zubaan, Apni Pehchaan.
