Students choose their leaders- EPS- Student Council Election held in school

The student council election process for the school captain and vice-captain was successfully completed this month. The students of classes 11 and 12 enrolled themselves for the post of School Captain and Vice-Captain. The winners are: School captain is Samiya Khan from grade 12 and vice-captain is Aleena Ali Khan from grade 11.

It’s widely quoted by our beloved Prophet Mohammed SAW PBUH that even when three people are on a journey, let them put one of them in command. The purpose behind this wisdom is to ensure that our collective time, collective talent and collective energy is utilized in one, positive direction and not wasted in a fragmented manner.

The leader is entrusted to lead a group and is accountable to both the group and to Allah. Being a part of EPS and carrying the title of IB ALUMNI, it’s a matter of immense honour for me to be chosen as a school captain of such an ostensive institution.

Life gives us tremendous experiences. Coming from a missionary school to an IB Islamic school and being groomed in such an environment was an enriching experience that I had never encountered before. And now being the School Captain is indeed a tough role to hold but challenging situations are a part of our life as it is very rightly said that “a smooth sea never makes a skilful sailor”. So everything seems difficult unless we conquer it.

Based on our IB plus Islamic Learner Profiles, I firmly believe that we can set new benchmarks in all areas of the School whether it is academics, cultural, sport or social work. In the light of the Prophetic guidance, it is imperative that we work together and act as one, while importantly still maintaining our own individuality and special characteristics.

So with full zeal and zest, I look forward to working with my utmost dedication for the Mission-EPS in the light of IB and Islamic Learner Profiles and make EPS reach a zenith of success. Insha’Allah.

Indeed I am humbly grateful to you all for the love and support and of course to Almighty Allah for such an elevation of responsibilities. I assure the school admin, teachers and my schoolmates, to work to the best of my abilities to fulfil their expectations and aspirations, in the discharge of my duties and responsibilities as the school vice-captain.
A leader is surely not a leader without team and support. Therefore, I humbly request you all to please continue to support me as you have done till now, to enable me to succeed in our endeavours so that I can serve my teachers, schoolmates and my beloved school.
