Grade 7A Assembly Feature: “Truth Torn” – Bridging the Divide

Our recent assembly, on 26 of November, “Truth Torn Apart,” offered a profound and critically relevant exploration of global and domestic challenges, masterfully presented by 21 talented students. This 30-minute production tackled the complex, heavy-hitting themes of injustice, political corruption, the impact of false news, and the evolving generational gap.

A Global Look at Injustice

The assembly opened with an arresting scene set in Kathmandu, Nepal, highlighting a powerful Gen Z student protest. Our student actors brought to life the frustration of a generation battling unemployment, nepotism, and political lies. This global perspective immediately set a serious tone, reminding the audience that the fight for truth is a worldwide struggle, from political leaders to grassroots activists.

The Generational Clash

The narrative then moved into the home, focusing on a deeply relatable conflict: the Generational Divide. In two gripping scenes, we watched as families struggled to communicate across the gap separating a concerned grandparent, a technology-skeptical parent, and a digitally-native Gen Z daughter. The debate was vibrant, exploring the differences between traditional sources (newspapers, old games) and the new digital tools (social media, AI), which the youth now use as a “weapon and a tool for survival.”

The Power of Unity

The resolution in “Truth Reunited” was a powerful lesson in empathy. Through sincere listening and compromise, the family found common ground, realizing that the combination of experience and modern insight is the true formula for positive change.

The assembly concluded with a moving call for ethical and social awareness, anchored by the profound message of the Holy Quran. The recitation of Surah An-Nisa (4:135) served as the ultimate guiding principle: “O you who have believed, be persistently firm in justice, witnesses for Allah, even if it be against yourselves or parents and relatives…”
