The students of IB primary years programme had a splendid day as they graduated from primary class and entered the middle year of the school.
A graduation ceremony of IB PYP students of Eastern Public School was organized on 14th March 2019 at the school premises. The ceremony marked the culmination of fifth graders and entering the Middle Years Programme (MYP) of the IB curriculum. It was an overwhelming evening for all. The students were given awards in various categories including Math Wizard, Literary Luminary, Miss/Mr. Transformed, 100% attendance, Class Partaker, Principled Kid and more. These awards were presented to the students by their previous teachers. The sight was a memorable one. Among all, there some special awards i.e. Academic Excellence which was bagged by Areeba Imran, Ahmad Taha Ibrahim and Ziya ur Rehman. The IB Learner profile Award was bagged by Mahim Khan. These special awards were presented by Head of the School Javed Khan. Javed Khan interacted with the parents and students on the occasion and wished a bright future to the students. He also shared how learner profile the core of IB, is a benchmark for assessing the students and school for the parents. Later, the parents shared their reflection about being PYP parents.
The ceremony ended with speeches including a speech by the PYP Coordinator Humera Riyaz who addressed the parents about the nurture and care the students get in the entire span and how fun is mingled with learning to make this journey effective in the long run. She said that this batch of students has been very hardworking and energetic and these children will be missed by all the teachers, she added contentedly. The event ended on an exciting note with a tossing of the graduation caps and a promise to oneself to fulfil their dreams.
Although students are transiting from PYP to MYP in the same school still they felt emotional. The students at the end also shared their experiences being in PYP and then enjoyed the day to the fullest.
