‘EY Sports Day 2018- 19’, witnessed a manifestation of natural human instincts of independence, struggle for survival and survival of the fittest competitors; as well as the acquired traits of evolved humans-empathy, talent, teamwork and compliance with rules.
It took just a couple of days to practice different races since young children are quintessentially bundles of boundless active energy, competitive spirit, playfulness and fun.
Children participated in various relays and races like obstacle, three-legged, favourite food hunt, get set, ready go to school, first balloon burst and sack race.Though far from perfect, events like ‘Sports Day’ and days like2nd February 2019 always linger with children, long after their pre-primary years are over. These are their very crucial first learning experiences, less about competition and more about being physically active, knowing the basics of sports and sportsmanship, developing coordination and motor skills and learning to strive with patience, confidence and determination through various challenges and most important, enjoying and having fun all along.
