Shabana Sultana, an IBDP & IGCSE certified Biology Educator, has been an integral part of the Diploma Programme at EPS since March 2025, serving as the IB Diploma Programme Coordinator (DPC). Holding a Master’s degree in Microbiology and a Bachelor’s degree in Education, she joined EPS in 2019 as an Educator for IGCSE and IBDP Biology. Bringing over 9 years of teaching experience, Shabana has a diverse background, having taught Biology across both the CBSE curriculum (for four years) and international curricula (for over five years).

As an educator, Shabana strongly believes that an institution’s success is largely determined by the academic progress of its students. She has continuously focused on elevating student performance in both IGCSE and IB by adopting innovative teaching and learning methods along with tailored lesson plans. Her strong leadership abilities led to her appointment as the Head of Department ( HOD ) for Sciences in 2022, where she made significant contributions to the department’s success. As a Science HOD, Shabana played a crucial role in driving the department, ensuring high quality teaching and learning across all sciences and spearheaded the introduction of Combined science as a IGCSE subject, thereby broadening the curriculum option for non-science students. She has previously worked as an Associate Diploma Programme Coordinator (ADPC) for a period of 5 months & developed eminence in leadership.

Her leadership has been a source of inspiration for both teachers and students to achieve academic excellence, foster a passion for science and contribute to the development of a zestful, innovative and collaborative learning environment. She notably introduced a systematic approach to result analysis following each assessment across all subjects and classes, enabling educators to use data to refine teaching practices and improve student outcomes.

Shabana is deeply committed to professional development, and EPS has provided her with multiple opportunities to attend both offline and online IB & IGCSE teachers meets, workshops etc. Beyond her teaching role, she has been actively mentoring specific Diploma Programme students since 2022, providing academic and personal support to help them navigate challenges and achieve goals. She has also accompanied students on various educational trips and outdoor activities, including visit to Azim Premji University during the forest festival of life and the Indian Institute of Soil research center in Bhopal, further enriching their learning experiences.
