During his Fellowship, Umar taught a bunch of 40 enthusiastic Seventh Graders, at Chinchavali Mumbai Public School, Malad (West). While working with a diverse group of individuals from across the globe, he dived deeper into what a good lesson plan looks like, How to deliver an impactful lesson, and also about globally recognized Teacher Techniques, and what exactly an Excellent Education would mean. He focuses on Activity-Based- Learning and his unique style of teaching and understanding the needs of the classroom is exemplary. He also underwent 5 weeks of Online Cambridge International Education Workshop.
Umar loves being around children and shares a strong connection with them and he uses this as a strong tool to bring Excellence in Teaching and Learning. He believes that our ability to bring excitement and hope in the classroom is highly dependent on our interest in each other, listening to one another, and acknowledging each other’s presence.
Umar strongly reinforces that Every Child deserves to be Mentally, Physically, and Emotionally safe, everywhere, all the time. Every child deserves to feel JOY, feel LOVE, feel HOPE. Umar wants his students to be Independent Learners, Responsible Consumers, Decision Makers, Impactful Communicators, and Leaders for a better tomorrow.
Before being appointed as the AMSC, Umar actively played his role as a Leader by serving as The House Mentor, The Assembly in charge, the Educational Trip in charge, and Mentor by facilitating students in Academics, MUNs, and Competitions. He also works as the Wellbeing Mentor for Students.
When being asked about Leadership and its Challenges, Umar refl ected “ For me, Leadership is not about a title or a designation. It’s all about the Little Impact, Inspiration, and Change, I bring into the lives of people around me! I do not see a challenge as a problem. Rather, it is the key to unlock the treasure of my greatest potential. Moreover, Diffi culties are nothing but Opportunities, just turned inside out. :)” He added.
